Leanne is the Co-Founder of this unique program, created in 1994, for Children with special needs, who are of school age within Golden Hills School Division. This program has been sought out by families across Alberta and other provinces since its inception and has received Calgary’s ‘Mayor’s Award of Excellence’ twice. Leanne is also a recipient, along with the other co-founders, of the prestigious Dr. Garry McKinnon ‘Champion of Children’ Award.
Leanne and her family have supported local 4-H programs for well over 30 years. Each year, they attend and purchase at the Show & Sale. Leanne has also, through the years, judged 4-H public speaking. In her younger years, she was a proud 4-H member for 7 years and later assisted with public speaking seminars.
Leanne’s family has been proud supporters and contributors to the local shelter since its inception. Whether donating partial proceeds from the sale of a show-home, sponsoring families at Christmas, lending a ‘handyman’ hand, assisting with re-organizing storage, or donating at the annual Fall Fundraiser, the Hilton Family has always been dedicated to this great agency.
Leanne proudly supports and contributes to this amazing program which, at its heart, fosters and embodies inclusivity for all abilities through the arts. This program brings together local talent from all corners of The County of Wheatland. The Society hosts two main fundraising events each year, where the community is able to enjoy listening to their musical talents along with viewing and purchasing paintings, photography, and sculptures from so many of our local artists. They also have ongoing projects, workshops and art classes throughout the year.
Leanne has a great appreciation for the individuals who serve and protect our communities. She has been a sponsor for their annual golf tournament over the years.
